David Holland
Making Conversations about Co-piloting Business Count!
David Holland and his wife Lynn have been together for more than 40 years. After running their own business in the UK, they bought a business coaching franchise around 20 years ago, without really knowing what coaching was, and it turned out to be the right thing.
In this conversation, David and Wendy talk about starting with what you don’t want, why your business is there to serve your life rather than the other way round, and why chasing the stuff misses the point. David shares the client who was finally able to put down the baggage he had been carrying, and the high powered lawyer whose biggest fear was being found out.
David’s conversation that counted happened in 1980. At 17, sleeping on trains to keep warm and eating at charity food shelters in London, he struck up a conversation with a smartly dressed stranger and asked how he could get to the other side of the carriage. The answer: opportunities are everywhere, so put your hand up. A month later, David did exactly that.
“Just say yes, even if you’re not sure how you’re going to do it.”
