Episode 85 – Dave Plunkett – Collaboration Junkie

Is small business collaboration right for you? We find out in this episode of "Making Conversations Count"!

Dave Plunkett

Making Conversations about Collaboration Count!

Dave Plunkett, the self-styled Collaboration Junkie, helps business owners build partnerships that actually work. Wendy and Dave met through a previous guest, Jonny Cooper.

In this conversation, Dave and Wendy talk about why collaboration has become a buzzword and why it is still underrated, the story behind his “Dangerous” tattoo, and how a membership organisation grew to a couple of thousand members almost entirely through partners and referrals. Dave is honest that partnerships are harder work than people make out, and explains why you need to be clear on the main reason for a partnership before you start.

Dave’s conversation that counted was with an old business partner, about stepping away from the business they were running together. Dave had fallen into being a business owner rather than choosing it, and that conversation set him on the path to running a business of his own design.

“I will never pretend that partnerships are easy.”
